Meet Mrs. Lindsey
MES 4th Grade Reading/SS Teacher
My name is Hakika Lindsey. I am going into my fourth year of teaching at MES! I am a Louisiana native who has resided in Alabama since receiving a full volleyball scholarship to Alabama State University (Go Hornets!) in 1997. I graduated from ASU in 2001 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. In June of 2019, I graduated from Troy University of Phenix CIty with a Masters in Elementary Education.

I have been happily married (to a P.E. teacher/high school basketball coach) for 20 years. My husband and I share 4 beautiful children (3 daughters-ages 27, 18, 13 and a son, 9). We are quite an active family! I am the head volleyball coach and head girls junior varsity basketball coach at Central High School. I also coach club volleyball and spend lots of time on the road in support of my children who play collegiate volleyball and travel basketball.

In my spare time, I enjoy visiting family and friends in my hometown, reading, and volunteering. I believe that "teaching is a work of art" and I feel blessed to be one whom can positively impact the lives of children, our future.
