Nightly Reading Expectations

*Students are encouraged to read for a minimum of 20 minutes every night*

Children become fluent readers with lots of practice! Students are encouraged to read for a minimum of 20 minutes each night, including the weekends.  Parents, this can best be done by establishing a routine that your child can look forward to each night.  Research shows that 4th through 6th grade students still enjoy being read to.  When your children see your interest, they develop a positive attitude toward reading.  There are so many ways to engage in text.  For instance, you can take turns reading pages or paragraphs aloud to each other.  For more ideas and suggestions that will help reading become an enjoyable part of everyday life, please visit the link below.
